Ford All-Electric Vehicles Summary

Charging forward with innovation, Ford Motor Company pairs the future of automotive tech with the solid foundation of vehicles built throughout the automaker's history. With more to come, you now have a choice of three Ford all-electric vehicles: Ford Mustang Mach-E SUV, Ford F-150 Lightning, and Ford E-Transit van.

Mustang Mach-E SUV

This all-electric pony is not only the first addition to the stable in over 50 years, the Mach-E is also the first four-door Mustang ever made. With all the comforts and conveniences of an SUV and the influences of the iconic muscle car, Ford's all-electric SUV is destined to be a crossover classic.

The Ford all-electric Mustang SUV is available in four models:
  • Mustang Mach-E Select
  • Mustang California Route 1
  • Mustang Mach-E Premium
  • Mustang Mach-E GT

The Mach-E electric SUV is available with a 68 kWh standard range, or an 88 kWh extended-range lithium-ion battery. Depending on the model, the Mach-E offers rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and electric all-wheel drive (eAWD) powertrain options.

When fitted with the extended range battery and rear-wheel-drive, the Ford Mustang California Route 1 model delivers a maximum electric driving range of 314 miles†.

The electric Mustang Mach-E dispels the myth that electrification and power cannot co-exist. The Mustang Mach-E GT (extended range battery and eAWD come standard) delivers an amazing 480 horsepower and cranks out 600 lb.-ft. of torque. 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds, anyone? Yes, we thought you'd like that!

Ford F-150 Lightning

Brand new for 2022, the F-150 Lightning is the first-ever all-electric F-Series from Ford.

The Ford all-electric pickup truck offers two battery options: standard and extended range. When fully charged, the standard-range battery has a targeted EPA-estimated range of 230 miles and the extended-range battery has a targeted EPA-estimated range of 300 miles†.

The Ford F-150 Lightning pickup is available in four unique series:
  • Ford F-150 Lightning Pro
  • Ford F-150 Lightning XLT
  • Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat
  • Ford F-150 Lightning Platinum

Whether you need your Lightning to haul tools and supplies across town or tow a trailer for a weekend adventure, powerful dual electric motors get the job done. Capable, durable, and Built Ford Tough, the F-150 Lightning has a targeted max payload capacity of 2,000 lbs. and a targeted max towing capability of up to 10,000 lbs.

Ford E-Transit

Whether shuttling to and from the airport, making deliveries, or heading to a job site, North America's first electric work van, the E-Transit was built to help entrepreneurs establish or bolster business.

Equipped with a fully electric powertrain, the E-Transit features a single-speed transmission and RWD, powered by a 68 kWh lithium-ion battery. The powerful electric motor pumps out 266 horsepower and delivers 317 lb.-ft. of torque.

In a low-roof cargo van model with a regular wheelbase, the battery pack offers a targeted electric driving range of 126 miles†.

E-Transit models include:
  • Ford E-Transit Cargo Van
  • Ford E-Transit Chassis Cab
  • Ford E-Transit Cutaway

The E-Transit Cargo Van is available with three roof heights and three body lengths. This means the Ford E-Transit series of commercial vehicles offers eight different configurations, customizable to take on any endeavor.

Ford All-Electric Vehicles FAQs
What Affects the Range of Ford All-Electric Vehicles?

Just as the distance you can travel on a full tank of gas is affected by certain factors, the same is true for all-electric vehicles.

The two most common reasons the range of an all-electric vehicle's battery is reduced are heavy acceleration and climate.

Heavy acceleration: Traveling at high speeds along an interstate uses more power than cruising along a downtown boulevard. To maximize battery range, accelerate gradually and keep speed constant.

Climate: Extremely hot or cold weather conditions may often reduce battery range. In addition, a vehicle's heater and air conditioner pull from the battery which may reduce overall battery power.

Unlike gas-powered vehicles, an all-electric vehicle offers a unique bonus in that it can recapture some of its own used energy.

Regenerative braking: An all-electric vehicle recharges its battery system by capturing the energy used when the brakes are applied. Gradual braking can maximize the regenerative braking process and help your vehicle recover up to 90 percent of the energy used.

Can Ford All-Electric Vehicles Use Rapid Chargers?

Every Ford all-electric vehicle model can be charged using a rapid charger.

And to make charging while on the road simple and easy, Ford customers have access to the Blue Ovalâ„¢ Charge Network. With over 19,500 charging stations-more than any other automotive manufacturer in North America-Ford has created the largest public charging network in the country.
